Long-term accommodation complex for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kalush
About the project
The long-term accommodation complex for IDPs “Zirochka” in Kalush became a large-scale project focused on the restoration and transformation of space to ensure safe and comfortable living conditions for people who were forced to leave their homes due to the war. The project was implemented in cooperation with METALAB and their initiative “KOKHATY”. The Interkon team joined the initiative as the contractor responsible for a full scope of construction and renovation works.
At the start of the project, the site was a neglected former kindergarten building that required complete renovation and adaptation to its new function. The main objective was to transform the space into a modern residential complex for long-term accommodation of IDPs, meeting requirements for comfort, energy efficiency, and safety.
Within the project, the team carried out a full scope of demolition works and internal reconfiguration to create a functional layout suitable for long-term living. New roofing systems were installed across all buildings, including partial replacement of structural elements. To improve energy efficiency, façade and attic insulation works were completed, along with the replacement of windows and doors.
The engineering scope included the installation of new heating, ventilation, electrical, water supply, and sewage systems. Modern fire safety systems and lightning protection were also implemented in accordance with applicable construction standards and regulations.
An additional phase involved a full cycle of interior finishing works, resulting in a functional, safe, and fully habitable living environment.
The “Zirochka” complex is an example of how high-quality construction solutions and a professional approach to social infrastructure projects create conditions for restoring everyday life and forming a dignified living environment for people.
